By analyzing the orbits near a Kerr black hole, Christodoulou and Ruffini simultaneously and independently discovered the non-decreasing area theorem by Stephen Hawking.  

Decay of a particle m₀ into a particle which is captured by the black hole together with a particle m₂ of energy greater than injected.  One can actually extract energy from the spinning black hole.  I will introduce this approach shortly.
